Today we celebrated our local babywearing group’s 1st “birthday” at a “you-pick” fruit farm! Lots of families came out, including my best friend Alicia, her husband Shawn, son Kaden, and her daughter Gracie, who is Lucas’ best friend! ;) Had a great time, of course!
So, I paint my nails pretty regularly these days. I also work as a barista/cashier pretty regularly these days. A few weeks back, I had a customer come in, a fairly typical, sheltered, suburban soccer mom, and she ordered a latte from me. She saw my brightly colored nails and said, “Wow, you’re so brave! My son asked me about painting his nails, and if it’s okay for boys to do that. Now I’ll tell him there’s a cool guy who does it too!” It was a nice moment, very cute.
Then, last week, she came in again, and said, “Hey, I’m so glad you’re here! I want you to meet someone!” She then brings her son forward, and says, “Okay sweetie, show him what you did!” And he throws his hands up, showing off his bright, sparkling blue nails. He shows them off, and I show mine off to him. He smiles. We fist bump.
Guys, I’ve only wanted to cry once at work before, and that was when someone ordered a large dry soy cappuccino on ice.
This time, though. This was a good cry.
OMG, dying. What a great role model. :)
Proof that heavy lifting doesn’t make you “bulky” ;)
How am I suppose to know if that’s the same person
Uhh well it’s me. :) So I’m telling you it’s the same person.
Pretty sure cellulite doesn’t disappear even if you do heavy-lifting.
Lol
Oh, and if only it were just babies…

“Finally, if you’re a vegan or vegetarian, you can still provide your infant or toddler with everything she needs. The American Dietetic Association and American Academy of Pediatrics agree that well-planned vegetarian and vegan diets are fine for infants and toddlers. Just…
Great post. In addition, B12 can be found in Red Star nutritional yeast! As for vitamin D, remember that anyone above 40 degree latitude may not get adequate amounts even from sunlight, and D3 supplements are not vegan.
…you’re absolutely right.
At a real job I’d get a lunch break…And I’d get to use the bathroom by myself.
And I’d get to interact with adults and talk about adult things. And leave my work at the end of my shift. And I can resign if I want to, and not be considered crazy for quitting.
